Technical Experience
Mr. Lopata's technical expertise covers a broad
range of technologies and spans three generations of business
information systems:
In the early part of his career, he worked primarily on IBM mainframe
technologies in very large data centers. He led the conversion
from the IBM DOS/VSE operating system to the IBM MVS operating system
for the financial, order entry and distribution systems for a major
European manufacturer.
In the 1980's, Mr. Lopata was one of the early adopters of object
oriented development techniques, which he applied to the development of
commercial software for IBM Corporation. He worked with early
versions of the OS/2 operating system and led the development of a
custom object-oriented development environment built in the C
programming language.
Mr. Lopata was a key member of a group that led the early development
of business oriented client-sever systems. He made important
contributions to the development of new methodologies for building
solutions in this technical architecture.
Most recently Mr. Lopata led a practice focused on the adoption of
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Service Oriented Business
Applications, which represents the leading edge of Internet and
Intranet based development today.
